It’s like this print was made for me. I mean I live in the tropics and love to wear colour. Totally me. Kate Aikins, designer of Misty Belvidere was wearing this print when I met her at the Curvy Couture Roadshow. I was captivated by the signature tropiflora print, its seriously mesmerising to look at. 
You’ll probably have noticed by now that I’m all about wearing colour. The colours we choose to surround ourselves affect us more than we think. As a society, we associate colors with so many different things – they have meanings beyond simple visual stimulation. Yeah wearing black can be ‘slimming’ but WHO CARES. I don’t live my life with the aim to ‘look slimmer’. When I wear colour, I’m celebrating life. Which is every day. Interior designers use colour to create different moods in different rooms – to inspire, energize, or calm. I apply this concept to my outfits. So if you are felling a little meh, channel some of the power of colour into your outfits and see what happens. Now back to my tropical outfit. 
This gorgeous and flattering high waisted skirt is knee-length, made of cotton sateen and has the signature Misty Belvidere metal zip at the back. Size wise I’m wearing a size 1. Theres a fair amount of stretch in the skirt and an especially generous amount of space for those of you who have larger hips and thighs.
The print on the skirt is such a statement that I decided to keep it simple with the top. The black ‘Avante Crop’ is made of a soft, buttery feeling stretch ponte. It has a scoop neck and fitted sleeves. Now guys this is a crop crop. If I had of put my arms up you’d see a slither of tummy and I’m totally okay with that. For those of you with a big bust (I’m a 18G) I’d size up just so you have a little more room. My shoes and bag match the subtle flecks of purple in the skirt. Keeping it simple and smart.

Wow Sam! This Misty Belvidere pencil skirt is MADE for you. I especially love your styling with it – picking out the lilac & then matching the shoes & clutch is stunning!
It was hard to choose a fav from the collection, but my most-favourite is the Tropiflora dress. I think both the Noir & Tropiflora are stunning & you could easily own both & wear them for so many occasions. The hi-Lo skirt with the gorgeous lining showing is what won me over – it’s brilliant! I know I would be swirling & swinging when I wear that dress, to show off the skirt! If I had to choose one, I would choose the Tropiflora. It’s a strut-your-stuff dress & after many months on crutches after 3 lots of surgery, it’s exactly what I need!! xo

The colourful pencil skirt has wow factor! In fact everything made with this vibrant material does. I live in the tropics and unfortunately have carried my choice of not so tropical colour clothes with me! Id love love love this skirt to start me onto my path of wearing more tropical “alive” colours. Its so beautiful and im inspired by the love of real body shape that Misty Belvidere promotes. Im learning to love my body as i am now, not when i loose a few kilos…. and this skirt screams to me to enjoy today, to have fun and to embrace my curves as a woman. t

That Tropiflora skirt looks so perfect on you. The Misty Belvidere collection is pretty varied, which makes a nice change. I could only narrow it down to two clear favourites. And I’m a dress gal from way back. So, no surprise I’ve got the loves for the Tropiflora Dress – so elegant and dramatic whether you choose black or print, it’s a statement I would happily make every single day. But just pipping it is the Mermadian Dress. So fun! The metal zip, mesh and cut has an edgy urban feel, while the style and shimmery gorgeousness brings me back to the last days of disco. I would BRING IT in that dress. *wanders off thinking about cocktails*

The Clairvaux pencil skirt made me gasp the first time I saw it, it is so divine. It would go so beautifully with the black peplum waist jacket I bought from Misty Belvidere after last year’s roadshow, which she was even kind enough to custom fit for me. So good it still makes me swoon.
Your opening paragraph just sums this skirt up. It suits you perfectly AND looks amazing!! I also love how you’ve accessorised with a purple rather than the obvious green. It works so much better and really draws more attention to all the details in the skirt.
As for my favourite outfit, it would have to be the Verdant Leotard. I remember seeing Miss Kate wearing that on her Instagram and I fell in love with it!!

I would have to say the Clairvaux skirt is my favourite. It’s such a bright and happy print and looks ah-mazing on you! I’m an apple shape and have recently discovered pencil skirts are perfect for my body type. I have a new found love of my legs and a skirt like this would show them off perfectly PS your legs look hot in that outfit. It was the first thing I noticed when I found your page, I thought to myself “wow she has great legs!”. Anyway…:the other thing is most of my wardrobe is black and full of dark boring colours. I’m finally at an age now where I’m thinking stuff what other people think and I’m going to have some fun experimenting with new fashions and colour!
