The animal print trend isn’t going anywhere fast and leopard print has been a classic for decades now. Not to mention its a true favourite for style icons Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor. At least a handful of designers feature animal print in their Autumn Winter collections each season.
There’s just something timeless and classic about the leopard print. Although there’s certainly a fine line between sexy good leopard and bad trashy leopard.
Following the Curvy Couture Roadshow in Melbourne, I picked up this wrap blouse from Aussie plus fashion designer Hope & Harvest. Perfect for work or for weekends, as long as you wear it with confidence and ease, leopard will always be empowering.
The Hope & Harvest ‘Leopard Wrap Top’ can be worn open or closed as pictured above. Wrap dresses and tops are so flattering for us curvy gals. Especially for larger busts too.
For this look I’ve added a couple of gold details {totally Maffia Mobster wife style I know}.
The H&M deep red wine coloured belt extenuates my waist and also breaks up the bulk of the black worn underneath. Keeping it elegant and simple I also wore a deep red lipstick.
My shoes are Calvin Kleins that I picked up from NYC when I attended Full Figure Fashion Week in 2013. Two years in and they are still one of my fav pairs of shoes to wear. I’ve been on the lookout for some deep red shoes for a while now but am yet to find any. They would have been perfect with this look.
To keep in line with creating a sexy silhouette I wore a fitted black Igigi pencil skirt and a tight black singlet top from Target.
My advice when wearing animal print is to keep it relatively minimal with no more than one piece at a time. The more black you pair it with, the more that it will help mute the print but still allow it to flash.
