Yup it’s true, I’m hosting Australia’s first ever body positive pool party. {for women only}

It’s been a goal of mine for a long time to bring together women to have a pool party. This year I decided to make that dream a reality so here is all the details.

When: Saturday March 16 – 2pm to 6pm (drinks conclude at 5pm)
Where: Novotel Brisbane – Rooftop
Who: Anyone who identifies as a woman is welcome. This is a body loving inclusive event so every female can come regardless of size
Dress Code: Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Being a pool party most people will be wearing swimmers but feel free to glam up your look with a kimono etc
Accom: The venue has offered us a rate of $145 a night for a studio room. Please call Novotel 07 3309 3309 and quote code CURVYAU
Parking: There is parking onsite at the venue, $30 per day and plenty of free street parking too

All tickets ($90 each) include a welcome drink, open bar for 3 hours, an epic grazing board, canapés & a gift bag. There will be a runway show hosted by Brisbane’s hottest drag Queen, Vollie LaVont. Lot’s of other fun stuff too but we have to leave some things a surprise!

Come eat, sip,dance and take tons of selfies while celebrating your body as it is right now! No need to stress about how you look, this is a body positive event where you don’t need to worry anything like that.

So if you haven’t heard about this event, {umm where have you been hiding?}

On Sunday the 30th of March 2014, as a proud member of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival Cultural Program, the Curvy Couture Roadshow will open its doors and introduce women to a new wealth of fashion and design for women in sizes 14+!

The Roadshow is not only the first plus size fashion event of its size to be a part of the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival but is also the first to showcase so many independent Australian & NZ plus size designers.

This event is a HUGE HUGE HUGE deal. Seriously ladies, how long have we been begging for diversity on the Australian runways and to actually be able to wear {fit} items showcased?

Even though the event is tied in with the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival and has the fancy title, this event is run by a bunch of fabulous Aussie women working in the plus size industry who have volunteered their time, skills and a whole lot of patience to put this together for the curvy community. The only way that events like this can happen is if you attend and spread the word about the event.

So please, from the bottom of my heart. Tell your sister, mother, friends, postwoman, the lady at the bank, doctor, your neighbours, step cousins brothers dog walker. Yup, you get the idea. Tell everyone. Spread the word and if you can’t attend make sure you follow the fun on social media.

Oh and as a sneaky side note I will be walking for Embody Denim and am on the Curvy Couture bloggers panel.

I would have LOVED to be walking in the main show for other brands however sadly I’m unable to due to the main sponsor providing models from their agency. {Huge sad face} But one day my time will come to walk a mainstream catwalk in my hometown of Melbourne.
