This weeks Aussie Curves theme is all about stripes. Being outside the ‘normal’ sizes us plus size gals are constantly being told what not to wear, stripes falling into the taboo category we should avoid.
Pffttttt seriously, who ever decided that us plus size gals can’t rock stripes?
When worn the right way stripes look fabulous. These days curvy women are boldly challenging the fashion taboos and successfully adding stripes to their wardrobe. There are so many fabulous styles and designs available that are made to fit our smokin curves so get out there and experiment with stripes until you find the perfect outfit for your shape.
Earlier this week I had a cosmetic photoshoot in Melbourne with new Aussie make up brand Iridis Cosmetics (launching soon).
Here’s a couple of behind the scenes photos featuring my stripe outfit.
And here’s some photos taken without the jacket.
I purchased this dress from Plush Boutique whilst attending Full Figure Fashion Week 2013 in NYC. The elegant black and white stripes fit perfectly on my body and the pockets are an added bonus.
It’s made from thick material so it’s more suited to wear in winter. I would totally rock this dress with some black tights and a warm jacket. The front of the dress has a sheer V shape sewn into it which is a bit too revealing for me so I like to wear a slip underneath.
Because the sleeves are quite thick, I also prefer to wear a black cardigan which is more flattering on my arms. Ohh the shoes, well again my favourite Calvin Klein got to come out for some photoshoot fun.

I just can’t resist putting up a photo of the king of stripes ~ Beetlejuice! {And one of my fav movies}
