Do you know how refreshing it is to walk into a space to see garments being shot on a size 24uk mannequin? Yes that’s right, an ACTUAL full figured size 24 mannequin.
S&J are all about making plus clothes for plus women. I’ve been following their journey for a while and was pretty impressed with their dedication and vision.
Of course I had a look through the samples whilst they were shooting and came across this FABULOUS midnight blue and gold floral foil chiffon maxi dress. It was soft, floaty and lovely. I immediately tried it on. It fit like a dream so CEO Gifi kindly gifted the sample to me.
I knew the quality was going to be great as I’d already previous purchased some of their dresses from Evans when visiting the UK.
On the way home from the UK I travelled to NZ to watch my two best buddies tie the knot at an organic eco health retreat looking across Lake Taupo. This was one of the most chilled out weddings I’ve ever attended. (and being a wedding coordinator I’ve been to A LOT)
All the wedding guest helped out in various ways to cook, do the flowers, make the cake etc. So chilled. So much love, just how it should be.
It was a hot day so in the morning many of us went to swim in the lake before the wedding. Which is why in the photos I have curly hair, I rarely wear it curly unless I’m on holiday.
As my dress was a sample and did not have lining I kept it on the sexy side and wore a short slip that pretty much covered my boobs and butt.
You can’t see it in the photos, the wrap bust is edged with sequins which give the dress a bit of subtle sparkle. So no need for any jewelry bling. The sides have sexy splits right up to the hem, which were nice and airy considering the hot weather.
Oh and you may have noticed the lack of shoes. Most of the guests didn’t wear any so I thought I would try something new and enjoy the grass under my feet for the whole day.
A HUGE congrats to my two friends Karla & Michelle. I’m absolutely honoured to be apart of your lives. The love you have for each other is extraordinary and radiates to all those around you. Love is love!
So, this big question, where to buy this dress?
This dress is sold exclusively at Yours Clothing UK and comes with an attached blue cami slip sewn in. I find that the neckline sits a little high so even if the lining was on the sample I would have trimmed it down to suit my look. Which is showing a bit of cleavage….(if you got it flaunt it hey?)
